Christabel is a talented facilitator with a wealth of experience and knowledge from various industries including the mental health, wellbeing, Restorative Justice and corporate sectors.
Christabel holds a Master’s majoring in Organisational Psychology and has a wealth of experience working in front-facing rehabilitative roles with offenders, victims and individuals with complex mental illnesses and forensic histories. Her Master's research centred on psychosocial safety, exploring how organisations can enhance the well-being of their frontline workers by creating supportive work environments and improving perceived organisational support. Christabel has experience facilitating workshops on topics such as de-escalation, communication skills and how to facilitate mental health conversations at work.
Through her various professions she has demonstrated strong risk assessment skills, initiative, cultural competence and excellent abilities in building rapport while maintaining professional boundaries. For the past three years, she has been actively involved in the Restorative Justice space, where she passionately works with individuals to reduce reoffending using evidence-based interventions.
Currently, she balances her work as the Assistant Director at JS Mediation Services alongside her role in a large corporate in Auckland, leading efforts to improve employee well-being. As part of her roles, she continues to facilitate workshops and also engages in 1:1 coaching with leaders using strengths-based approaches. Christabel has a passion for building and enhancing cultural competencies for both her and others, bringing a cultural perspective to all aspects of her work to ensure that well-being strategies are inclusive and resonate with diverse communities.
